Prayer is a wonderful powerful thing, but how much more is showing love to those who don't expect for you to be there in time of need and struggle, especially if you’re a stranger to someone. Sometimes people just need a person to talk to, a person to vent to, and although we may not have all the answers, a friend is merely just what they need, an ear to just listen. It’s up to us to be there for those who are broken, lost, and confused.
Sometimes us Christians get caught up in the religious aspect of doing things, such as always trying to have an answer, or scripture for every situation, all to make a person "feel good” or make ourselves feel good like “we did something.” What we don't realize is sometimes people just want you to hear them out, with love just be there as support in there time of struggle, giving portions of encouragement, acknowledging them, reflecting with them, asking them questions, showing true interest and wanting them to be victorious by overcoming and showing them that they are not alone in their situation.
It is important to not only pray, but to live out our prayers by actions of faith. When we give our hearts to God fully, it’s not only to “better ourselves”, but also to help people by reflecting God’s love by showing acts of love.
