When people speak to us, it's imperative for us to listen. More often than not, we've already a list of responses at the tip of our tongue and the pressure to release them before their sentence is done is palpable. There is always a push behind our words and we have to be careful with the words we choose so that they aren't going after the person, but the spirit that's warranting the response. The devil is always talking, but knowing what the Lord has said and speaking that in order to establish what's true goes much further than having a witty or unnecessary rebuttal.

Ephesians 6:12 (NLT) - "For we are not fighting against flesh and blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in heavenly places."

There was a discussion that was recently had about praying without ceasing. This does not mean to be on our knees 24/7 locked away in a room. To pray without ceasing is an attitude. Regardless of what situation you may be going through (good or bad), take it to the Lord in prayer. Whether it be giving thanks, praising or asking Him for help in areas that you fall short in, we are to never stop praying. His ways are higher than our ways and His ways keep us from stumbling so why not let Him into every area of your life? Prayer is communication in the realm of the spirit and although He knows all and is always present, He wants to hear your voice.

The anointing is not to function solely within the four walls of the church. As Sister Renee has said, it makes us superior. This is not just regarding ministry but for LIFE. The purpose of the anointing is for us to fulfill the call of God. Whether it is five-fold ministry, owning a car shop, or having a role in local government, the anointing makes us superior. What was impossible is now possible with God. What could not be attained now can be through the anointing. It empowers us for success in life. It's also important to know that there must be revelation knowledge with the anointing. You're never anointed and not know what the reason is for.

We have been learning about anointing lately. The anointing enables you to function like God. It is His supernatural ability to enable His vessel to do His work effectively (ex: accuracy with prophecy) and efficiently (ex: getting people to be 100% healed). It is what connects us to God's Glory. Those who are anointed are more superior than others. for example at work you're able to complete tasks quicker and more efficiently. At school you're able to understand and retain more information. Once someone is anointed, they cannot separate themselves from it.

The title of this thread is "Revelation Releases Power." Revelation doesn't come from our mind or from a booklet. It comes by the Holy Ghost. And when revelation comes, it is always pertaining to something we didn't know. That's why it is revelatory! The Holy Spirit shows us something we did not or could not see previously. What other source do we have? Man is fearfully and wonderfully made. Man is intelligent and can come up with a plan of action. There is nothing wrong with thinking things through or strategizing (these are two things we should always be doing), but it is the revelation that God gives to man that releases power! Revelation causes a shift in the way we think and understand things, it makes things clear, and brings us higher in the knowledge of God and His ways.

Change comes when we are challenged. Similar to what Beau said, When the Lord tells us and/or shows us how to do something we have not yet done, it is because this new way of functioning is required for what He wants us to understand and walk in. For example: To pray differently (in the spirit instead of just in english). Doing so reveals the mysteries of God and helps with our understanding of spiritual teachings. This reminds me of a quote I once heard: "if you want something you've never had, you must be willing to do something you've never done."

To add on to what Beau posted, even in our every day conversations with family, friends and coworkers we should make sure that how we talk and what we allow to come out of our mouths does not go against how or what the Lord would have us to speak, but bring light to darkness and empowerment to those around us. Gossip, slander and/or foul comments should not be part of our repertoire of habits but aligning our thoughts with His thoughts by staying in His word is a way to bring forth the ability to change the way and the words we speak.

It's amazing how the revelation of who God is releases power. Worthy is He to be praised!

I would like to look at it from another angle. What happens if we speak words that we believe are to be true that do not line up with the word of God? The answer: nothing. The words will remain powerless. God will not breathe on a half-truth. Nor is it possible for you to walk in something you don't understand. When you're walking in truth, there's light, revelation, understanding, promotion.

It has been said recently that how we praise shows how we see God and is a witness of our vision. If your vision is limited then your praise shall be also. How much more intensely would you praise if someone held up a mirror in front of you and you saw healings and miracles being done through you by God's power? If you witnessed lives being changed by the words God gave you to speak? God wants to do amazing things through us but it's up to us to see that potential and I believe that this goes back to knowing who we are in Him. Look past your "earthly" limitations and see what God has in store for your future which will effect generations to come. He is worthy of praise!

To hear the Lord is to listen with the intent to do what He has said. When we hear AND do, we are "...likened unto a wiseman, who built his house on a rock." (Matthew 7:24) However, those that hear and do NOT do what the Lord has said are "...likened unto a foolish man, who built his house on sand." (Matthew 7:26) These are the people that pick and choose what they will be obedient to. Verses 25 and 27 are similar in that both houses endured the rain, flood and wind. But notice that one house did not fall while the other house did.

Even when the enemy comes against you and you find yourself facing difficulty that you may not be able to see your way out of, staying in complete obedience to what the Lord says will ensure a strong foundation for you to stand on which is needed during times of hardship. His word will bring out stronger than before.

What is the baptism of the Holy Spirit? It is the coming of the kingdom of God. It is Christ taking over in a life. No more do I live unto myself-that is over with! Now, thank God, according to His eternal purpose, He has taken over.  More»
